Meeting Shane

Last night the girls and I met up with some friends from our early start class that go to the University of San Diego at a pub called Reardons.  It was SO much fun! It played a ton of fun oldies and was filled with international students because none of the Irish students are back yet.  The DJ said he is there every Tuesday so I have a feeling that we may become regulars.

But the best part about today was dinner! Shane, our liaison here in Cork, took all seven Holy Cross girls who are studying abroad at UCC out to dinner, on HC's dime! It was great to get to know him and have a chance where we could all chat about the differences we are finding from back home to here,  and hear all about what we have found in the new city, as well as get some great tips from him. Shane is so nice, and has nothing but great things to say about Holy Cross students and so we are very excited to go on some trips in the future with him.  We ate dinner at a place called Curran, and after cooking for myself for about a week, having a great piece of steak and french fries was heavenly.

Appetizer: Baked potato loaded with cheese and bacon

Entree: Steak with french fries…sorry that it is half eaten I was so hungry I started eating before I remembered to take the photo!

Dessert: Apple Sponge Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream … yum!

Our group embracing Shane!
