After waiting for what seemed like an eternity to finally get going on my new adventure travel day finally came! In true solidarity with me, my sisters (without any hesitation I might add) decided to dress exactly like me to send me off. Made my experience a lot more fun, and a little easier to say goodbye through laughs rather than tears, even if it never really is easy to say goodbye to your family for so long.
Shortly after arriving at Logan airport Caitlin arrived and I immediately felt better knowing that I had my best friend by my side through whatever was about to come our way.
As a result of the time difference, and a lot of turbulence on the plane, I was unable to get a lot of sleep. However, there was so much adrenaline running through me that when I left Shannon airport and took a look at what would be my home for the next 10 months I felt alert; even if I had been awake for over 24 hours. Our first stop after checking in to our apartments (and freaking out because having keys to your own apartment is so grown up) we headed off into town to start getting supplies. We went to Penny's, which I would best describe as the Irish equivalent to America's Target, minus food. We bought towels, sheets, pillow cases, blankets, comforters, and various other odds and ends we might need.
Here is what my bedding looks like:
Next stop was the UCC campus where we found the building where we will be meeting for Orientation tomorrow and grabbed a quick bite to eat at their campus eatery. Sorry for the lack of a photo but I was SO hungry! Which is why our next stop was appropriately to the grocery store. For those of you who know me you know that grocery shopping is one of my favorite things to do, but it is going to take awhile for me to get used to all of the brands and bargain shopping on the euro! But I have a beautiful kitchen to start playing around with.
love your bedding, gurl! <3
